I Found My Niche at Bowdoin College
Student Name: Susu Gharib
School: Bowdoin College
Major: Anthropology & Biochemistry
“My name is Susu Gharib and I’m a sophomore at Bowdoin College! I’m planning on double majoring in anthropology and biochemistry on a premed track.
I originally was planning on attending a much larger school, but after touring Bowdoin, I fell in love. I toured during open house where I met people who are now my best friends.
Everyone was so welcoming and kind, and I loved the tight knit community feel Bowdoin had. I also chose Bowdoin because I knew I would be intellectually challenged while still being able to pursue my interests.
On campus, I am involved with Peer Health, The Mckeen Center, and I am the programming director for the class of 2023.
I also speak Spanish, so I’ve been taking Spanish classes at Bowdoin and love going to Spanish conversation table dinners.
Overwhelmingly, the best part of Bowdoin is the student body. I’ve learned so much from my peers, and I’m thankful for how outspoken our students are. Students aren’t afraid to band together and call out the college whenever a poor decision is made.
I’ve grown a lot from being exposed to a diverse campus that holds the college’s administration to the standards they expect.
Bowdoin students are what makes Bowdoin the best college ever. Also lobster bake and epicuria.”—@susu.gharib @bowdoincollege
