I’ve found so many communities on campus that feel like home, especially as a Hispanic student going to a PWI, that really allow me to find people that are like me!

It felt very surreal to have Niche message me and ask me to demonstrate a snapshot of my life here at Bennington. I remember sitting in the living room with my sister, using Niche to look at different colleges that I wasn’t really passionate about.

I decided to attend Tuskegee University because I have family members who have attended here, I wanted to be at an HBCU, and Tuskegee also offers an excellent animal science program.

When I came to SDSU, I had no idea that Brookings, SD would be home, but now I’m forever a Jackrabbit.

When searching for a college to call home for four years, I wanted a place that would help me grow as a student, a person, and an athlete.

I get to do what I love every day with friends and peers that are insanely talented. It is so neat to be able to know that I’m sitting in a classroom with future music teachers and performers!⁠

College by far has been the best experience of my life, I’ve already met lifelong friends and I’ve only been here for over a year. I’m currently living in a 6 person suite with my best friends and having the absolute time of my life.⁠

They even have a big brother big sister program to help you get settled in on campus. You have another family away from home. I love my HBCU and I wouldn’t have it any different.⁠
